I really think that ninjas still need pants. His white fur would be an easy target if he were ever doing his ninja thing during the night.
His eyes are a little small for a kid's eyes, too. Since this is a cartoon, you need to exaggerate his facial features more. Smaller nose, MUCH, MUCH larger eyes.
The diaper's pretty disturbing, though. Doesn't really lend credence to his cool ninja attire, really. So he really needs some trousers.

ummm well...first he's an urban ninja which means "An Urban Ninja is someone who combines the art of Ninjutsu and Parkour, to try and leave a tag on a highly visible place" or by using their athletic ability to get into high places....go google it if ya don't believe me. second the diaper is there because of the fact that hunter is a cub. (seeing as it's in his name "hunter cub").
Know wut? Your nuthing but a fuckin drama queen and you need to shut your stoopid mouth. He drew me exactly as I asked him to....therefor your oppinion is null and void. Furthermore if all you can do is bash on other people maybe sumone needs to staple your maw shut...who the fuck are YOUR parents?
Well, it's certainly no photograph. And it's got exaggerated features compared to reality. This is certainly not something that could exist in reality. Ergo, it is a cartoon.
And they probably do - but remember also that the age distinction is important in cartoons. You can't give someone adult facial proportions and then say they're kids.

Oh dear, that is a fallacy, my dear, as our brains don't have an infinite capacity for forgiving an artist's style - and a break from reality like that is too much for our poor grey matter.
The fact is, with almost every mammal on earth, children have shorter snouts and bigger eyes in comparison to the head. We are genetically predisposed to think things with big eyes, small noses, and chubby proportions to be cute and babyish. This picture, on the other hand, has very strange proportions which detracts from the cuteness and slides somewhat into creepiness, with the awkward pubescent face and stubby limbs.
Thing is, people associate big eyes, small mouth with children. That's the way it is. Unilaterally, uniformly, and all those words beginning with Uni. That's the reason why the eyes need to be bigger, or at least exaggerated. Trying to break that convention by calling it a style is terribly lazy, and shows an unwillingness to improve and a kind of pretentious arrogance. Like the kind of pretentious arrogance I'm showing right now.
And it's not, "it's a cartoon therefore it has to be like this", it's more akin to saying "It's how it works in real life and we have no reason to change it, so why break verisimilatude?".

It isn't, and I wasn't. That didn't win you any points with the judge, Wright.

Verisimilitude is the appearance of truth. When we look at cartoons, we suspend disbelief to get involved with them, but they still, on the surface, follow the same laws that our world is run by. Moreso, they are similar to us psychologically. Unless you're looking for a disjointed dadaesque dreamscape, cartoons still have to follow our rules. Otherwise it's too much effort to suspend disbelief. So while we can look at cartoons running off of cliffs and having them hang in the air and say "Hey, that's concievable.", since it happens to all cartoons and is part of the cartoon world's physics, having an adult looking creature and calling it a baby will elicit head scratching and a Will Save to Disbelieve, because it doesn't make sense that that would happen. It's not even funny. It doesn't have an explaination (the falling creature hasn't noticed the ground isn't under them anymore), nor does it have a reason to be other than the artist's inability to draw childish proportions.
;)

Can the artist weigh in here? I'd love to just say 'Fuck it. If that's how I drew it, that's how it should be.' On retrospect, maybe the muzzle and nose are too big. But that's how I wanted it. Am I'm not gonna change it. You'd swear this was draft number one. Hunter himself can vouch for all the prep sketches that went before this. I've never drawn a lion before, never mind felines (only once, for the record). The idea was to make the jaw powerful, since strength is one thing that seperates a cub from a kitten.
And I hate huge eyes on babyfurs. It can be just grotesque. So I try not to do that either, and it's an awkward line to walk I feel. A line that I'm studying, and learning too.
Just for the record (there's alot of record here) I appreciate criticism. So this is in no way an attack on anyone. I'm more surprised that an actual discussion is taking place. But I will say, Khatoblepas, if you're trying to be sarcastic about the sword and stuff, try showing it. If you're not, and you just don't get the babyfur thing, then you're probably safer not enraging the fanbase
And diapers are totally suitable ninja attire. They spend alot of time waiting to pounce right? Well bladder's don't wait! :P
