Because only Karno's Two Ton Tina is the only well known elephant in the fandom. You want an Elephant option? start introducing named popular Elephants. or even make an Elephant popular. perhaps a couple showing how well they use their noses...

Stan Sakai has made one Rhino into a somewhat notable character. His name is Gen and he is a Mercenary. I cannot remember any notable hippos, though. (side note, Columbia has a small hippo herd. was owned by a drug lord, they escaped, and now have a small family. they love the climate and are happy there. they are also dangerous and the Columbians are afraid of them. )
