my uncle purposefully destroyed (literally ripped apart and mangled) my butterfly i had been saving in the freezer for like a year now that my dad gave to me that i was going to save to have mounted because it was special to me
needless to say i'm angry and upset and i hate him even more for doing that to me like what the fuck kind of person are you to do that to someone. and anyone who knows me knows how much i love butterflies and moths so i'm kind of devastated because he found it in like perfect condition lying and knew i'd love it

But on a real note, who the fuck messes with something that is OBVIOUSLY being kept? Aside from butterflies not normal escaping to the fridge, what inclines a person to destroy something like that regardless of its propose. Even if he thought it was trash, don't go around destroying shit, what????

endangered? theyre really super common of a butterfly where i am, though id imagine you cant purposefully kill them if that was the case, and if theyre dead by natural causes theres no real harm in keeping the bodies... theres a professional collection site that offers them too so i feel you might be mistaken on that ;7; then again you might be living in a different area..?
either way my friend who was going to originally mount this one for memfor a display is going to get me another swallowtail, so you wont have to try and get me one but thank you for the consideration nonetheless...!!

I live in the Netherlands, and the specific butterfly that's known here as the 'koninginnepage' is nearly extinct here due to destruction of its habitat and whatnot - law has decided here to prohibit all trade of these butterflies to prevent catching and killing them for collections to happen. They used to be really abundant here in the wetlands and whatnot, but their numbers are dwindling here :/ The only people allowed to have 'em here are zoos and whatnot, and people who're part of the breeding program in an attempt to bring their numbers here up.
