Though my parents are crazy, there is one thing I love about them... Their openmindedness to furries.
The last couple years they have visited the con parade to see all the suits and my new creations, and meet my friends (sadly my sister's school is too far and she missed visiting this last year).
My parents helped me build my first suit, and even speak to me in suit as other furs would. Though hesitant, they have grown to accept it quickly, and though some of the convos have been awkward, I'm glad they came to me before Google.
Though they can be a handful sometimes, I can't appreciate enough how accepting they have been of their 23 year old dressing up as a fox and being lovey snuggly on everyone without being weirded out by the furry fandom and its crazy customs.

You have awesome parents. My parents grew to accept my furriness because it was an outlet to finding true friends. I was a loner until after I graduated high school in 95. I was given a computer, where i discovered furry chatrooms on AOL, mIRC. About 97 I discovered there were furs attending the local colleges and helped start the local furry community. In 98 I was introduced to a furry con and the joys of fursuiting. In October 98, I asked my stepmother to borrow her sewing machine. I ended up using it at her house and with a Simplicity pattern I bought at Walmart, I made my own fursuit in one week. I haven't looked back since. it is a wonderful experience.
