I have earrings now, so my character does too! But they're completely optional.

I have a decent few of them already since there were some sales, but the ones pictured are my favs: Fake plugs, one pair is black + white checkers, the other is blue + black star (I also have plain black ones). And I really love my small silver hoops

I have a few others, like ear cuff + arrow going through lobe, ear cuff with a teal rose, fox earrings, seashells + anchors + seahorses, etc!
