I'm taking a risk here. Most everyone here knows about graphic artwork in progress; perhaps not as many are familiar with rough song demos. This is the ROUGH stuff, folks, at least as rough as I'd ever let anyone hear. If it works with a single voice and single instrument, it will usually only improve with other elements. That's the theory, anyway.
This is some attempted audio fan art for an artist who shall remain nameless for the moment.
:) It's my voice and my beloved old Gibson which is developing a nasty rattle but still plays like butter, recorded in the first single complete take I could muster. Not only can you hear all my mistakes, you can hear me beating the poor guitar more out of tune as I go. You can hear my voice crack and balk the ending. You can even hear my Google mail notifier go off near the end of the take. Still, I think there's something to build on here.
Now, shall I toss it and start over, or take it further and make a production that rocks, with real crunchy guitars and rowdy drums and a mix slammed to the digital red?
