Digital sketchthing of my...semi-original/totally inspired folkloric creature that still has no name. She's sort of like a cross between a kelpie and a siren, as far as I can tell. She lives in swamps and is indigenous to the Southern US in particular. Each of her species is a "protector" or "guardian" of their own swamp, and two of the same creature RARELY if ever inhabit the same swamp area. Basically she keeps her swamp safe from outsiders and intruding idiots who might trash it. She only eats people who fall under this criteria; those she likes/deems friendly to her swamp are spared and sometimes even entertained nicely before she lets them go. 8)

When wandering hunters or lost folks wander into her swamp, she takes this semi-human form of a seductive woman and lures them into the water, only to eat the unsuspecting victim upon entrance, usually ripping them apart very violently like a crocodile. Her creature form is very crocodilian, in fact, and she sports those nasty sharpass teeth in any form she takes. Also she has a nasty tail, I think that should be a dead giveaway to most people. Although, lost/wandering hunters in Southern swamps? Not the brightest crayons in the box, as far as I'm concerned. Oh and she lures in the ladies, as well. She doesn't discriminate. 8) She probably emits alluring pheromones or something like Poison Ivy or somesuch.
