Just a WIP for my wife's xmas present. She never comes on here, so she probably won't see it before I get it to her.

I'm going to assume this is reduced in size from the original, but do you recall what the line widths you used on various parts of this pic?
I've been after the extreme-fine-line look (as an optional tactic) for some time, although to be honest, I've rarely processed digital inks to be posted alone at reduced size.
The figure seems to be leaning to the left a bit. Was that intentional?

I use Manga studio and an Intuos 3 pretty much exclusively and the way they handle line width is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. So I start with about a 5-10 px "nib" and based on pen pressure and speed can drop down to half a pixel and still be very dark. It's not an expense product and has way more versatility than the PSCS2 that I used to use. I haven't seen any big names use it, and there is little in the way of tutorials out there (compared to PS, Painter and Sai), but I swear by it specifically for the ease of line width control and if you've got a shaky hand like I do, it straightens that up too. Worth every penny. I haven't started up any other art programs in over a year.
And no, I didn't notice the lean, but it explains sooooo much. I'm glad I did the character and the background seperately. Hopefully it won't be too bad to turn her.
