Interestingly enough, the Arab people have rarely been known to be that good at shooting accurately at almost any range, where Western Nations like America, and half of Europe for that matter, are known for their accurate snipers and soldiers. Now... MAGICK on the other hand... and other supernatural stories, tend to originate from Arab nations, particularly Egypt, (what is now Iran), (What is now Iraq), (What is now Turkey), (What is now current middle eastern nations for that matter). Although... those magic users' aims were well-reknown for being strong, but lousy-aims as fracking open an oil well's center-point and being off by 100 meters from it... Like my aim of tossing a dirty paper towel into a trash bin the other day... lame. That's how bad their aim was. "I SHOOT YOU-! ... dammit... i hit my cousin...."
European magick history/stories tended to have a bit more accuracy and they even invented the shoulder-rifle, which eventually got down to the hand-cannon back in the... 1400s if I remember right, I may be off by as many as 300 years I guess(Chinese invented gun powder, and others, but never got into building GUNS until after being shown the new tools of war by a European or American soldier or trader, I forget which.

Not saying that you can't do what you've already done, just explaining why it's improbably for an Arabian MLP to have a gun in the first place :P also: MLP doesn't have guns, just cannons, far as the kid's show goes, and they're just PARTY and confetti cannons. :P

Yeah... during the last few World Wars, all nations left SOME sort of weaponry and armor and bodies in the sand that could have been dug up... doesn't mean the stereotypical aim has gotten much better throughout the last few thousand years :P
