It all started innocently enough with a pic by Mapper, depicting Holly as she faces down a demonic entity ... which I couldn't resist captioning:
"You and me. Behind the warehouse, twelve o'clock. We rumble."
Then I added "Loser buys the winner a snowcone," and knew I had to do a render.
Bonus points to anyone who recognises the Deus Ex reference.

I use e-frontier's Poser for character rigging, posing, animation, and rendering. It retails for $250 ($175 at Amazon.com), but if you're truly strapped for cash, you might consider the freeware DAZ|Studio, which has similar functionality, and is somewhat Poser-compatible.

Poser and D|S use prefab content, which is highly customizable through morphs and textures. But if you're interested in creating your own props and figures entirely from scratch, you'll need a modeling program. These range in price from freeware (Wings, Blender) to astronomical (3DS Max, Lightwave, Maya). I use MilkShape 3D for modeling, myself ... it's $25.

"Are you sure you pressed the right button?"
"I pressed Orange, it gave me Lemon-Lime."
"Perhaps you made a mistake."
"No! It's the maintaince man, he knows I like orange!"
"Are you saying there's a plot against you?"
Shame the second game didn't have any real good memories like that one.

As Kipling would said (were he still alive and/or inclined to speak), "The female of the species is more deadly than the male."
Of course, we're dealing with two different species here, so it's apples and oranges, I suppose ... or more appropriately, oranges and lemon-limes.
