Since my friend https://www.weasyl.com/submissions/teknicolortiger is leaving the site, and it'll be a while before I finish the next draft of dreamcatcher, I figure there's no harm in temporarily uploading the art I've commissioned for it here.
Dreamcatcher is a long term project to write a brand new type of tabletop/online RPG. It's both a setting and mechanics system, but really it's a new paradigm I'm particularly proud of. It's finished it's first draft, and found a second draft of the mechanics, but the book itself requires a total overhaul to get it close to the design goals I'm looking for.
This will be taken down along with all Dreamcatcher works once I get closer to launching the book.
Momentary Glance is an unusual husk:
The corner of one’s eye hides the darkest terror. The fear of something creeping up, the gentle rustle of movement, the soft breath on the back of the neck. They all combine into this husk that is only ever seen in its namesake moments, the edge of a claw, the shine of a tooth, or the cold blinking red eye.
They stalk victims near endlessly once their target is chosen, eating into their fears, causing the victim to doubt their own senses, and sanity. This slow work may happen over months, the creature waiting outside settlements to continue the hunt. And once the victim truly doubts themselves, they strike. That self doubt is the key and they take the victim’s body by force, overwhelming them and then walking them into Penumbra.
