After I installed this application on a laptop belonging to a flat mate of mine I recently noticed you could create your own start button skins, so I went ahead and did a tester with a Kid Flash skin.

Top image: What it looks like normally in the taskbar.
Middle image: What it will look like when you hover your mouse over it. (It fades in gradually)
Bottom image: What it looks like clicked.

Start8 is a start menu program from Stardock that provides a start menu to windows 8 and windows 8.1 allowing you to use a windows 8 computer like a windows 7. It is available for $5 on the official website.

How to apply the skin:
Simply copy and paste the downloaded .png file into your Stardock Directory. For example C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start8\StartButtons

(I believe it still works by loading up the file from anywhere else, but when applying the skin in configuration it automatically loads up the StartButtons folder, the sake of putting the file in there saves some hassle.)

Select Custom image at the bottom, then pick image and there you have it. Job Done.
