i'm using mild steel. i'm hoping to get some scalemail going as well. thanks for helping me out with the how to.

No problem at all!
I'm happy to share the knowledge.
As you know by now, the mild steel is very dirty.
You can spray it down with brake cleaner (Auto parts store) and that will get rid of a lot of it.

Now you need to do a bra top!

I was just teasing.....mostly. But Bras are a lot of fun to make.
You could tarnish your coif a bit if you wanted it to look older.
Just wet it and let it rust a bit.

In modern fantasy, Lichs dont wear chainmail as they are undead and magical. Most modern Lichs are adorned in mostly embroidered torn cloth. To be perfectly honest, they ONLY Lich I know that has worn any sort of armor is the necromatic Lichlord from Lord of the Rings.

This is true. But when it becomes general "era lore breaking" especially among fantasy-lovers like myself, it feels wrong, ugly, and unnecessary.

When I typed "Lich" into google images, esily half of the initial search results have lichs wearing metal armor of some sort, most often plate. This seems to imply that people have different ideas of what kind of armor lichs can or can not wear.

it may seem ugly..but thats how its gonna be. i want it to be ugly, and not to fit into conventional terms of a lich.
