All I know is, in the EGM interview, Yoshinori Ono was talking about how he REALLY wants to make a new "Vampire", (Darkslaters) game. He wants to take on the 'challenge' of making all the 'crazy animations' transcend as smoothly as possible from the 2D to a 3D environment.
And yes, there probably would be new characters. I'm hoping if they allow him to make a sequel that he goes for making a Gorgon girl from Greece, (preferably in a dominatrix-style outfit). X3
