Come join Karen the kangaroo on well.. quite a normal morning outing to the store. This was a short story for
ZipSquirrel He wanted a simple normal everyday type of story about a diapered kangaroo who went about an everyday task :) I hope I did your idea justice.
Normality
Opening her eyes to a ray of bright sunshine Karen squinted a bit groaning as she looked over at her clock. 5:59AM… Great in one minute her alarm would go off.
Stretching a bit the kangaroo threw the blankets off of her revealing her plain white t-shirt and her slightly yellowed Tena diaper. Standing up Karen got into the familiar routine of changing in the morning.
Being born premature had caused her to never really have any continence she had always been in diapers and they had just been a part of her life. A constant companion along for the ride.
Untaping the tapes and pulling the diaper down she gently wiped herself down with wet wipes rolling the used diaper up like a pro she straightened the new one sprinkling some talc onto it before taping it up.
Just in time for her alarm to BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ into her beautifully quiet morning. Groaning she reached over and flipped the off switch. Walking over to her dresser she pulled out a cute shirt and skirt to go with it. It was warm enough that she could actually dress comfortably today.
The skirt and shirt went on in a matter of seconds as the kangaroo yawned still quite groggy. It was definitely time for coffee. Heading down into the kitchen of her cozy two bedroom home she got into the kitchen and started the coffee pot.
Rummaging around a bit as coffee was making she grabbed her favorite cereal and headed to the fridge. Opening up the chilly contraption she grimaced looking inside.
“Darn it… No milk are you kidding me I just went shopping.” Groaning a bit she headed back up to her room grabbing some socks. Coffee would have to wait there was no way she could drink it black just… eww.
Slipping on some shoes she grabbed her purse and her keys and headed out the door. Getting into her car she started it up and drove. Karen liked to think herself as the simple kind of girl she didn’t need anything big or fancy to make her happy. All she needed was her job and her friends… and right now some milk.
As she parked at the small convenience store by her house she got out of her car her diaper crinkling a bit as she walked. The calming breeze and warm sunshine lifted her mood as she smiled walking into the store heading to the dairy coolers.
Grabbing a gallon of fresh milk she looked around a bit debating on a few things. A few minutes later she walked up to the counter with her gallon of milk and two cartons of rocky road ice-cream her absolute favorite.
The otter cashier smiled as she rang the purchases up talking politely to Karen about how things were and the beautiful weather that day. As she waved her goodbyes and paid the lady exact change Karen walked out of the store and back to her car.
Sitting down she noticed the warm squish of her diaper deciding when she got home it might be time to change. Reaching home and carrying her things inside she gets everything in the fridge.
Finally able to make her cup of coffee she takes a seat on the back porch listening to the birds. Sipping at her fresh coffee Karen couldn’t help but think how routine her life has been. And how much she enjoyed every bit of it.
Normalcy in all of it’s beautiful routines. As her diaper squished and hissed once more Karen decided she needed that change after all. Walking inside she laid out a fresh diaper and went about changing herself.
A few minutes later in a fresh diaper Karen sat at her computer on her favorite social networking site and surfed ready to have a normal… relaxing.. and happy day.

Neat! It's interesting to see something in just your normal day life, to be truthful Wolfie, 'tis a good writing style too if you like for your reader to relate with the protagonist! Though for a short story it'd probably just be the main character, hehe, only antagonist I'd see here is the lack of milk!
