It's jumpscares galore.

Many people including myself are prone to shiz like that.

I know its jumpscares but I'm not sure why it's so liked but Idk maybe I prefer more subtle spooky.

It's one of the few horror games where you're without a killer weapon to defend yourself against dying. It's a feeling of dread mixed with a dark atmosphere overall. And unlike in shooter horrors, you really feel the urgency of survival.

That or it could be because it's the fact that animatronics in general are creepy from the get go and mixing the concept of SCP 173 (or whoever had the concept to begin with) with them is apparently a good idea.

...Or it could just be furries being furries.

i never really got why it became so popular ether, the game didn't exactly flesh out the characters enough to get so much fan art O.o
