Turkey Spaghetti Sauce
1 Tbs vegetable oil
1 lb ground turkey
1 medium onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 19 oz can tomatoes coarsely chopped
1 5-1/2 oz can tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup dry red wine
2 stalks celery chopped
1 medium carrot chopped
1 tsp dried basil leaves
1 tsp dried oregano leaves
1. In a large saucepan, heat the vegetable oil and saute the turkey with the onion and garlic until the onion is soft and the turkey is no longer pink. Do not overcook the turkey.
2. Add the remaining ingredients and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and quickly reduce the heat. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
