I tried to be a mountain man. But modern society won't leave a man be enough to be a mountain man, at least, that's what I found.
How have you done so far? My greatest issues and concerns were law enforcement and eminent domain - the constant threat of potentially having my property taken away by a runaway mad government. Have you had any issues with those areas yet?

Good to hear they haven't tried to take away your property. Taxes was another concern, but I got on disability finally, so that wasn't an issue any more for me. But after I was arrested for having my gun to protect me from growers that had threatened to kill me and found out that the same cop who arrested me was also the one who told the growers to kill me and that the whole of the government backed him, I decided my life wasn't worth risking just to try to live off-grid. And this was four hours from anywhere in northern California.
I'm on a sailboat now. Not exactly the life I imagined, but the reality is, it's only one step, albeit a rather big one, from living in space. After all, if you live on a boat, you have to be more self-sufficient than if you live on land.
