This is Gizmo, my loyal (most times) friend and family member for 12 years now. It was tough leaving him in my mother's care again, but I know he's in good hands.

I've been told he still sleeps by my window and still runs to my room if possible, just like how I still sometimes get ready to take him for a walk by habit.

It was awesome being able to be near him this year again and I always treat our times together like they could be our last.

Whenever I come home, he's the first person I greet.

When I leave home, I cry over him the most.

I'm most thankful that no matter how far I am, he thinks of me just as much as I think of him. Thankful that our friendship has outlasted most that I've shared with people of my own kind.
