So it's been awhile since I've posted much about any serious updates to my 1966 Buick Skylark (Check out this journal: link ), so I thought I'd show a better photo of the heart of the beast. Nothing serious, just a small 305 crate block, very similar to the popular 350 block found in millions of GM cars (Hell, Ford even made their own version of it too).
Lots of goodies since the last update have been repaired and put in. I've rewired almost the entire car; all I have left to do is part of the dash under the steering column where all of the wires connect to the firewall. I've dropped the transmission pan and filter, replaced them, then replaced the transmission modulator and put in a new vacuum line for it, redid the wiring to the starter and ignition, did a valve adjustment (That was fun), repainted a lot of parts (Last was the fan blades, fan choke, and water pump), and more. Been tuning the hell out of her lately, and last night I got to take her out for a drive like never before (Now that it actually shifts...).
She was fucking quick, but hesitated with a good amount of throttle if I didn't back up the initial throttle with another press on the pedal a split second later. Gonna replace the very small acceleration pump nozzle in my carb; isn't getting enough fuel when accelerating. Once that's replaced, and with another tune, she should be road-worthy c: It's extremely rewarding to be able to take her on a drive and have her go from 0-60 in seconds flat with no problems :3
Anywho, thought I'd just give an update.
