Mascots4Kids Event - Furry Circus School 2014
When the instructor was looking for tall volunteers to try out the German Wheel, I gladly jumped at the opportunity.
Let me tell you that that thing is way harder to work with than it looks. I kept getting yelled at by that dude - who clearly looks like Al Bundy - to follow his directions which I have been, but apparantly I was executing them at the wrong times or not applying enough force when I do them. Can't this dude realise that I'm not a professional at stuff like that and just lay off. The nerve of that guy. All throughout the event, even though he never meant it or didn't exactly mean any harm or whatever, I felt as though he was making me feel like I was disappointing him which in turn made me feel bad. On top of that, because I wasn't pushing down with as much force as I should have with my hand-paws and feet-paws, he rolled me back and told me to get out of it; I didn't even get to do a full roll.
But I digress. As difficult as that device was, I tried my very, very, very best to make him happy. To make everyone happy. Maybe if we were back there next year - and probably got a better instructor as well - I'd love to have another go at the tricks I attempted and do a way better job executing them.
Also from here on out, I'm just gonna call the instructor Al Bundy. Even if he doesn't look like him, he sure as Hell reeked like him; I could smell alcohol on his breath from, like, 5 feet away.
This event took place on April 19th of this year (fittingly a month after FE2014 which bore the "Circus" theme) and was organised by
, founder of the Mascots4Kids group. The group consists of freelance costumed character performers (a.k.a. mascots) and attendants who appear at charity and commercial events in and around the Toronto area and bring happiness and joy to all. As for why these photos are only surfacing now... Because shut up.
Photo taken by my older brother (a non-furry) whom I thank deeply for spending time to take photos of me and everyone else at the event before he had to leave for work.
