Finally got my chance to do a test on baby Grunt (づ.◕‿‿◕.)づ
His normal map is still a mess though.

Oh, I actually found a temporary work-around by switching normal map into a bump map. So the final render didn't get affected.
But still, I dunno if it's the problem with the render engine (LuxRender) in general or or the map itself, since the normal map is smaller than the diffuse map, which might lead to stretching and causing some weird shit Basically it distorts the texture in a weird way, not giving out bumps and even make some spots giving out completely wrong colour.

Oh I remember Luxrender! Scaling should not do this to the texture.. it would get a bit softer/blurred, but wouldn't distort. Does it help if you manually scale it up in Photoshop and save it out as a different format?
Or maybe the tangent space is flipped. Have you tried inverting the green or red channel on the normalmap texture input?

Yeah, I feel like it shouldn't cause any trouble. Thank for the suggestion, I might try to make a couple of copies and flip them channels around then save them as another format (default is tga) like TIFF or somethin'.
I can also show you the normal map if you have free time.

AHHHHHH! NOT THERE TODEX-SENPAI~ *yanks the glowy fin*
I've been doing several test renders so far, but doesn't seem to pinpoint the problem yet. Should I zip the test renders along with the normal map into a .rar and attach it to the mail or use hosting sites like MediaFire?
