I know I commented on this already, I'll just do a quick one here since the one on DA was pretty short. :)
So I take it that's the nest he's laying in? Purrr what a comfortable feeling picture, I can just imagine a mid-summers day, laying in his huge straw nest sunbathing.. his back/hop metal being hot enough to cook an egg on. But to him it just feels wonderful and relaxing. I don't know what it is, something about how you did the lines around his eyes really gives him an older more mature look.. like maybe he's father late in life. I wonder where the momma plane is, maybe out snatching up a cow or something to bring home and feed the chicks? XD
Also I don't know why, maybe because our nest is in your hanger, but I imagine their nest being inside like an old wooden barn, so that nice pleasant smell of old wood interior mixed with the hot straw dust of the nest. Of course they probably wouldn't fit in a barn, so maybe like.. an old decommissioned hanger that's seen better days, all rusty with the roof fallen in so the sun can get inside.
