Well this is one of those pics I’m not sure why I didn’t double post on FA. I liked it when I drew it, probably just before FA was around or during a tragic outage. This is Ryoku and Jewl.

They are from a story which has changed a few times along the way and generally never got off the ground. They are still in my sketch books but not as frequently. This pic in particular was drawn in 05’. The only reason why I post it now is for reference for a trade I’m going to do ^^

For the low down,

Sgt. Ryo (call sign Ryoku) a.k.a. Sgt. Ryoku was betrayed by a superior officer during a conflict in a far corner of the world. The betrayal was not limited to him in that with the fall of Ryoku the army which he served had to withdraw from the region due to serious destabilization from a massive concurrent insurgent attack on camps and bases threw out the territory. Currently the terrorists are in control of the region and the military sits at arms length while Ryoku fights to survive.

Meanwhile the officer who betrayed him goes up the ranks over the years until he is responsible for an entire army with the rank of general. Its Ryoku’s job to bring him down and he makes a few friends along the way.

Jewl is a civilian an aid worker in North Africa when Ryoku stumbles into her aid station in another part of the world in turmoil with assassins trying to kill him hot on his heels. Ryoku was tracked down to that location and the wrath of his former military fell on the location seeking him as the soul arbitrator of the incident remaining, Ryoku didn’t try and recruit her but she decided to tag along at least as a medic and eventually she heard his story and decided to fight beside him since shortly there after she was named as an accomplice after the fact, in essence they are now both wanted traitors to their home land and can never go home unless the truth comes out…
