
Tee hee. I love vultures and I've always had a soft spot for gryphons, so I was very pleased to meet a griffon vulture up close. Close up and in this light, can you image that this really is a gryphon? :3
NB: Oki, I've just looked up griffon vulture on Wiki and their photo looks nothing like the bird I saw! I could've sworn they said "griffon" though ... does anyone know what bird this is?

ah the griffon vulture, I had heard of them on a documentory a long time ago, it was about how people had eradicated almost all the wildlife on the matterhorn in the swiss alps, and they mentioned that griffon vultures were one of the native species that had disappeared, and environmentalists are now trying to reintroduce them, along with many other beasts, back to the matterhorn, so that people will have much more than a few mountain goats to look at while climbing the mountain.
