Also sewing thread, (with silk) and the hem was invented about the same time in the Renaissance, careful though I created my role playing game to be in the renaissance, so I have some thirty years of doing that fashion, on you. There are ways to do bodybuilder type clothes in the renaissance, you just need to understand how clothing is made. Go buy a pattern for making a blouse or a dress and you can get the idea. Alternately draw a character like you normally would then put clothes on them that are too small, and don't cover so much of the chest since that is the area most seen by body builder on-lookers. Watch that movie "taming of the shrew" with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, they had excellent costumes of the period.
