Curious young deer, I startled it while walking, but just stopped and stayed still and calm so it didn't run away. It worked and the deer actually started to move towards me as I talked quietly, explaining that I was just going to take some pictures. Eventually it decided it was close enough and disappeared back into the woods, though I saw it again later on my walk since the path looped around the area.
