This picture does have a history based on observations in my field classes for my education minor. At my observations my directing teacher and her co-worker told me stories about the first day parents (parents who have children going into Kindergarten for the very first time) basically on that first day the art/elective teachers would set up their rooms as a welcome/ support environment for the parents who get a little tender hearted about their child growing up and now their off to school.

After dropping Emily off for her first day at Pre-K. Both Tessa and Tiberius gets a little emotional after seeing their little girl growing up and heading to the classroom. So they get directed by a member of the faculty to the art room where the reception is being held for parents of Pre-k and Kindergarten, and Tiberius looses it and he starts to cry. For him it was only yesterday that his little girl was born and he was able to cradle her in the palm of his hand and forearm.
