Back when I was in school, I had my jacket confiscated, chains to my wallet, my spiked gloves and other various clothing that was considered a "weapon".
Told I couldn't wear my tight shirts, because it was too revealing only because I had a nice rack.

Various other bullshit.

Don't let the rules regardless of their validity or not, distract or discourage you from your education.
Just learn the curriculum, never give up, and get the hell outta there.
Remember college professor don't give a @%#* what you look like in their classes. :P
