This is sort of a proof-of-concept for a simple music player I've been writing. It's targeted at ancient 8-bit computers using the AY-3-8912 sound-chip, and the only other requirements are a Z80 CPU, a hardware timer and a decent chunk of general-purpose RAM.
The audio you hear is recorded using the Win-APE Amstrad CPC emulator, but the player should with little modifications be able to run on other systems as well (for example the ZX Spectrum, Tiki-100 and MSX).
The tune is the theme-song from the Ginga Nagareboshi Gin anime, or better known as Silver Fang in the west. The following video-recording was used as reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4_mrdCI6Rw

Thanks a lot!
The biggest challenge was to squeeze everything down to 3 tracks. You gotta have one for melody, one for rythm, and then you only got one left for everything else xP Whenever there is more than 1/4th pause in the melody or rythm, I'm stuffing some extra bits and pieces of the secondary melody, guitar riffs and/or bass in there.
