Well, the map on the right side is obviously based on the kabbalistic sephirot (taking into account that the very same could be read as a map to creation).
The design for the individual spheres on the same map in turn are more directly based on mayan symbols to give a sense of ancientness to the map.
The heliocentric diagram on the left is more forgetteable in turn, IMO.

I've only ever read a few short texts on the Gnostics and their beliefs, so I'm not acquainted with it in depth, even though I've remember some of their diagrams in my reference books, especially this one: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....iaMystical.jpg
