I spent way more time on this than the budget probably allowed, but I hate putting out substandard work.

This is a photo-illustration I put together for a logo design. The client is a berry grower who uses frogs to control pests. So he wanted a frog on a berry.

At first I was going to do a vector graphic, but that proved to be unfeasibly time-consuming. However, you can see my felt-tip rough sketch.

So instead I purchased some stock images of a frog and a berry similar to my drawing, and montaged the two together. I didn't just whack the frog over the berry, mind, I cut and cloned and manipulated the images so they would closely match my original sketch.

Hence I've called it a 'photo-illustration'. Cos really, it's just illustration by other media.
