One of my favorites from the bunch of five watercolor portraits I took! I struggled with the black fur a bit, over saturating the paper and then having to find ways to make it work. I ended up relying more on the ink than the watercolor to get the dark fur I wanted. I REALLY enjoyed designing this mask! The character has heat powers, so i wanted to play off a phoenix theme, and get some really saturated red/oranges in there.

Looking at this more, I can understand why black could be hard to work with! I hadn't really thought about it, but just the thought of doing black with watercolors sounds hard in itself xP
Came out awesomely, would love to see what your traditional work looks like with my own eyes someday :3
