As I understand it, Z'n'B was rushed through the schedule as the work on What's Opera Doc? was consuming all the studio production time. Given this constraint, it's amazing that Zoom… turned out as good as it did. I'm with you—it's one of my fave WB toons (or any toon, for that matter)!
Thanks for this comment—I agree with all your points. Time & space conspire to trick the coyote—do you need further proof that a hostile cosmos is aligned against him? And I like how the detonation is kept onscreen. So often this kind of gag would get its laugh by depicting the aftermath. Here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15170216/ we see the coyote getting his butt kicked in glorious technicolor. There's even a trace of jiggle-motion on his buttcheeks while they're on fire—making this (for me) WEC's most erotic moment in a cartoon. The only thing missing is the close-up shot to establish the target. Which is why I meddle with the classics. ^!^
