question for the rune marking did you use a shorter pile or shave the blue or the surrounding black at all? I've got a bodysuit with a good number of star markings, and not sure the best way to go about it. Color matching has made it where I don't really have access to much shorter variations of the fur, (the furs I have range from 1.5 pile (maybe 2) to about one inch. The stars will be in the one inch pile. Just wondering if you've got advice for that situation. I do like the look of the mixed fur length suits though, so I'm thinking I probably will end up having to shave a large portion of the bodysuit. Any thoughts you have would be great though!
Get yourself a set of thinning shears, they are a special kind of scissors that leave a "natural" edge rather than a sharp edge. It really helps to tidy up sewn in markings and allows them to have really crisp points if you do a bit of thinning around the area where your colors change. Especially if there is a pile length difference. I use thinning shears a lot in my work because I really wanna bring out sharp points and crisp edges that just don't happen in fur very well. I think they will help you in your project too! Don't forget to practice on scraps!!
