Man, tonight was tough.
This is my baby Elvis, one of three boxers I own. I had to say goodbye to him tonight and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
He was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma back in September at the young age of 2 years.
The cancer finally caught up to him and it simply became too hard on him to live. I just got back from the vet about two hours ago, where he was euthanized, surrounded by his family and very content.
I'm pretty broken up about it and I already miss him like hell, but I'll get through it in time.
RIP Elvis... I love you so much it hurts!! <33333
(I'll scrap this later)

*whines* Awww. I hear ya... 5 years ago, my beloved dog Rhea was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. It wasn't the first time I've had to stand at a friend's side when they're euthanized, but gods that one was hard because it just... came out of nowhere. Since then, one of the cats had heart disease and had to be put down as well. It is NEVER easy... it's such a stark, unreal thing that one moment they are there... and then a minute later, gone. Yet... we can at least give them a merciful passing - something we can't even do for our own kind yet. They live such short lives by comparison to us, but man... do they ever make incredible use of the time they have. They're personalities, love and friendship give us memories that shape our lives, and make us smile or tear up even years down the road. Keep those memories dear to your heart - and share all the stories you can of who Elvis was so others can come to know him at least a little as much as you did. It's the best way to honour him, and celebrate his life.
I now how u feel girl hugs I hope u can heal quick but know u guys were a good family and was happy to be with you guys till the end im sorry for the loss I know the pain from losing animals in your arms im so tramatized from the last kitten I tried to save ... so I hope u push through this its hard but u can do it
Holy shit, dude... I totally feel you. I also lost a dog at 2 years old due to cancer. She was quite possibly the best dog I had ever known, and I still tear up at times whenever I think of her... (ಥ﹏ಥ). It is always INCREDIBLY difficult whenever you lose pets, because as everyone knows, they're basically a part of the family. I lost another dog, who I had known for 8, almost 9 years, but she had died of a heart attack. I broke down when I was told she had passed, and in such a way as that ;_;.
Like I said, it's tough, 'specially when it comes to man's best friend, or any pet for that matter. I hope you cherish the memories you had with him forever and close to your heart. Stay strong, my friend.
