Also from Exalted (it is inspiring, take a look at it folks) comes Hadaro, an air element warrior, and Saya, a big mouth thief/mercenary. The game mixes both eastern and western fantasy together and somehow does it well, so it leaves a ton of room open to character image development.

Actually there are some pretty darn massive changes, to be sure. Me personally, I find pros and cons to them both. Still, 2nd ed does seem faster overall and has a somewhat more balanced feel to many of the charms. Not to mention the world makes a bit more sense in spots, insamuch as Exalted ever manages that! But who knows, perhaps your player would miss the near endless capacity for power whoring inherent in 1st ed.
