Heh, actually, I once made an absolutely tankish character with a Revanent/Minotaur Warden in 4E. Epic level, sure, but he didn't go unconscious at 0HP until he failed a Death Saving Throw, had an item that allowed him to automatically succeed such throws, and was also insubstantial while below 0HP. And since all healing starts at 0...yeah, good luck killing him.
