Ack, I meant to upload this yesterday but it somehow slipped off my radar. Anyways, another ref sheet for rufus, this one nude to show off all his spots.
As I said before, Rufus is a chimera, with parts bat ram rabbit and hyena. He doesn't have bat wings but he does have freaky deaky feet that he can use to grab things and even hang upside down from them. As a chimera, he's a lab-made creature. The bottle in the picture is his soul flask. When an alchemic creature is made, it originally is all bottled up in a dormant state. When the bottle is open, its physical body emerges from the flask and it instantly matures. The creatures essence or 'soul' if you will, is left behind in the flask. This renders the creature nigh indestructible. However, should the flask be broken, it will die within the hour. Needless to say, that the bottle is given the greatest care and is usually hidden away in a safe location.
Aside from the durable body that they get from having their soul removed, chimeras typically develop other powers from their unique bodily composition. Rufus for example has a very flexible body and a hyperactive immune system, granting him an immunity to all organic viruses. He can also interact with micro organisms. He can draw viruses out of another body and into himself, or cause an influx of bacteria into a certain point. He can use it to remove diseases from an individual, or to pack wounds with beneficial bacteria and accelerate the healing contest. His alchemic knowledge can also be used to create a variety of powerful medicines, making him a fantastic healer.
That's not to say that he couldn't use his gifts to a more malicious intent and become a biological terrorist but the thought has never once crossed his mind. Rufus's body is fully grown and he has a mature mind, but he doesn't know that much about the world since it's only been three years since he was removed from his flask. He considers it his life's purpose to learn as much about the world as he can, then to record his findings and share his knowledge with future generations so his work won't be wasted.
Wow, that was long XD I didn't expect to go on a big shpeal like that. Well that's just about all there is to know about Rufus, at this point anyways. I just made him not too long ago and I'm still working on his character. Thank you to those of you who took the time to read ^.^

I actually came up with the idea of bacteria control a LONG long time ago. As far as the actual character goes, I spent about an hour or so tinkering with his design in my head, and then about another hour was spent drawing it. Then I took another hour designing his outfit. The red and white diamond panel around the collar of his jacket is actually a tribute to Final Fantasy's white mages XP since I wanted him to be a healer of sorts.
