Here's another character: A poodle named Remi D'Tete (The last name is pronounced "tet").
Yes, he is yet another character with a detachable head, and yes I do have an explanation for his capability that makes about as much sense as the power does to begin with.
Remi is from a long line of french poodles and the ability was actually the result of a curse. Way back in the French Revolution, the poodle Antoine D'Tete was an executioner. One of the nobles forced onto his chopping block ordered the headsman to release him, but Antoine knew that if he followed the noble's order, he'd be the one to die, so he refused, at which point, the noble cursed him that every third generation will have one sone or daughter who shall lose their head when they are old enough to wed (or, in other words, shortly after puberty). And as a result, Remi in the modern world is the unlucky one in his trio of generations.
As for how this is a curse: Well, frankly, any girl (or guy) you meet is likely to not want you when s/he finds out your head could drop off if s/he kisses you too hard. Furthermore, unlike most of my characters, Remi's body does not always have to obey his head's mental commands if the head has come off. Of course, Remi can regain control through willpower and mental effort.
Personality wise, Remi can be somewhat energetic and would love to go out and be wild like others his age, but the curse requires him to be very careful, to the point that othwers might see him as rigid. Of course, if he did get comfortable with someone, and this other person was okay with his odd nature, he'd be happy to loosen up with then. (Of course, dragging him out to the dance floor or otherwise pulling him into the fun can also serve to force him to loosen up, though he will still try to keep his head on.) His body, while headless, will think purely by heart (which can be a problem at times, especially given the need to rely on the senses of the head) while with his head on, Remi will strive for a balance between his desires for a good time and his desire to keep his curse from getting known.
Other things are still in the thought process.

That's true. Poodles are one of few species (including deer, bears, etc. so far as I've seen) that are not all that popular in the Furrie craze. More wild animals like lions, wolves, foxes, etc. are widely used.
