I used a whole jar of peanut butter on this. Really sweet, nutty cake topped with little pink fondant squirrels and peanuts.
My mate and I made this for a Thanksgiving feast meetup for local furries (trianglefurs) Apparently, taking off the squirrel heads is a source of amusement for some furries. :o
Peanut Butter Sheet Cake
2 cups sugar
2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Icing
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 lb powdered sugar
1. Mix sugar and self-rising flour; set aside.
2. Bring to a rapid boil 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of peanut butter, and 1 cup of water.
3. Pour over dry ingredients.
4. Add to that 1/2 cup buttermilk, eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla and then mix with mixer.
5. Pour into greased 18" x 12" pan and bake for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
To make icing:
1. Bring to a boil 1 stick of remaining butter, 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/3 cup buttermilk, 1 teaspoon vanilla; boil,
2. Add powdered sugar, mix well, and pour over hot cake.
