This is the original Soviet bat, Imran Aleeksev, great-grandfather of Vlad (My character). He is an NKVD assassin and soldier in the Red Army during the reign of Stalin. In this picture, Imran is taking aim at an unknown target with a new weapon, to test it's effectiveness in battle. Whoever the target is, he can't escape the sight of the Soviet assassin bat!
