So I made this thing called the fungitsune, which is basically a fox with a fungal symbiont. Probably also magical powers like a regular-people kitsune. Then I decided to draw Farran as one and it was super adorable. Now Farran is the first fungitsune. XP

Not a permanent change though! I just have not worked on developing a specific fungitsune character. That is likely to come later.

This was the badge I prepared for MFF this year, and people liked it! Overall, making it went super well, and it looked pretty good through the entire process. I think the lineart is some of the best I have ever produced (though it is hard to see now with color). I did not end up doing the cutting or lamination; that was done by Lizard Lamination at the con. Since I had not finished it before I got there, I did not get to do a proper scan of the final color, but I do have a scan of the lineart.

The thing he is holding in his mouth is a chanterelle, by the way. It is a very valuable edible fungus which is not technically a mushroom but is closely related. The one growing on him is based on turkey tail (which is much less edible but, in my opinion, quite pretty). Also, the text style for the name is a reference to fungal hyphae but it is kind of complicated so only ask if you really want to know.
