I decided to make a cover of Blood by Sonata Arctica for a class project. Unfortunately I had to cut off some of it due to time restraints both for the presentation, and amount of time I had to make this before I had to present.
The drum track was taken from one of their live performances. I played the keyboards, bass, guitar, and vocals for this though.
I will note that I'm not a guitarist or singer, but I had fun with this.

Blood is a wonderful song and Sonata Arctica is my favorite band ever =D It pisses me off how hard it is to reach Tony's notes on most of his songs! Dx Most of their songs I can find a way of singing along, but there are those songs (specially on Ecliptica) that I'd have to change the main key of the song to sing it in tune or at least for it sound good in my voice. xP
Have you ever thought about making a Keyboard + Vocals version of this song? I think that would look awesome, you should give it a try. :3

Yeah, a lot of their early songs, especially Blank File, Destruction Preventer, Picturing the Past, and Wolf and Raven have such high notes. Even in this song, I had to sing the backing vocals for the chorus an octave lower since I wasn't able to sing it well at the original pitch. The band themselves usually play some of the older songs tuned down a bit now too to make it easier for their singer to hit the notes.
I've considered doing keyboard versions of some of their songs, just never got much time to get around to it.

Have you listened to any of the Ecliptica Revisited songs yet? People are hating on them 'cause they're on a lower key than the original songs, but I liked almost all of the ones I listened to. The only one I didn't like much was UnOppened.. x.x He only sings the backing vocals on the chorus and it sounds kinda weird.. But I loved the new version of Kingdom for a Heart, I think it's even better than the original (specially because I can sing it now lol haha)
I'd love to see a cover from you of "Everything Fades to Gray". You're an excellent musician! :D

I liked what I've heard of the Ecliptica Revisited songs so far, though I don't like the mixing all that much unfortunately. I didn't really notice the change in the chorus in Unopened before, since I'm so used to watching live videos from them that I'm used to changes like that. I think it sounds good in my opinion.
I could try a version of Everything Fades to Gray, but I'm really not a singer lol.

Well, if you want I can sing it for, but my voice and equipment aren't that good. xD I've made a voice cover of "Everything Fades to Gray" once. Some people seemed to enjoy it, even though my voice was terrible after 3 h of singing :P You can check it out on my profile if you want to ^-^
