A Christmas gift for a very special someone.
The only refurbished 3DS the store had in stock was a Pink one. Not sure how she feels about pink, so I decided to draw her favorite Pokemon on the cover itself. Once dried, I will put a transparent plastic case on it so it doesn't chip or damage. Its her very first 3DS. This could be better, but that's my OCD talking.
Do I dare advertise that at conventions if anyone is interested? XD

It could work if you kept your 3DS in one of those crystal cases.
There's a line of vinyl-cutting machines by Silhouette (available on Amazon) that cost about the same as a medium-range printer.
I experimented with a really small Roland cutter that I bought years ago (and only got around to using this month) that could conceivably do an image like this (it has a built-in scanner), but I hesitate to do commissions with it because it's been discontinued for years and I don't know where I'd get replacement blades.

Well, if you find the customization of handheld systems to your liking, I think you'll REALLY like the "New 3DS" Nintendo has slated. It's got interchangeable lid and back plates which come in a variety of solid and transparent colors.

You can actually order replacement shells for game systems so you can airbrush or decorate however you want without affecting the original case, then just replace the original case with the custom one. Complete shells usually run about $30 USD on eBay, partials sometimes around $15.
