Upon seeing another artist's depiction of Delphox, I was compelled to draw something like this and came with an interesting story piece.
The Story
I had never usually strayed to far from home before... But if I could travel back in time, then how could I not try going to a different world? As I walked through a strange forest, I eventually arrived at what seemed to be a pond surrounded by sakura blossom trees. It was like nothing I had ever seen before in my life. After a long gaze at the pond, I looked to meet with a shy fox that stood under one of the trees, hands clinched together in front of her. Her gaze was almost mesmerizing and froze in my tracks, but I eventually approached her with a friendly hello.
She really was a quiet one at first, she managed to mumble a soft hello. Now only a few feet in front of her, I introduced myself and extended my arm to shake her hand. She looked at me with a slight blush, but made no attempt to shake my hand. Feeling puzzled, I asked if there was anything wrong. Not responding, the fox sits down and stares at the pond as if in deep thought. I sat down next to her and stared at the pond with her, though I didn't understand why. Almost out of nowhere, she introduces herself saying her name was Delphox. After a few more quiet seconds, she eventually tells me that I was "the one". I wanted to know what she meant by that.
That was when Delphox told me that she had been here at this pond for quite a long time and that no one else has ever come here, not even other Pokemon like herself. In telling me this, she told me that I was the only other person that she had seen in what seemed like forever. The reason she said that I was "the one" was because she dreamed of a day where she would see someone else again and that they would meet on a day where the petals would begin to fall. Completely overtaken by her story, I wanted to know how she came to a place like this. She then told me that she was once a Fennekin, and that she was a rejected Pokemon. She traveled to many places seeking companionship, but never got it. She had to fight many battles to stay alive, and that in time she was able to evolve. It was by the time that she became a Braixen that she found this beautiful place and decided to call it her home. For the next few years, she would continue to live here and fight for food if necessary eventually leading up to final evolution and become the Delphox that I would see today.
All this spilling eventually brought Delphox to tears. I knew she had a dark past that could not be undone, but I could try to ease some of the pain that she felt. I reached over to hold her paws and told to her that I wouldn't abandon her if he knew her before. Her sobs disappeared as she looked at me. I pulled her closer and hugged her as I promised that I would come back to see her every day if that made her feel better. As the fox embraced the hug, she wiped her tears and said that she would love that very much.
So yeah, all of this from someone else's picture... I even went as far as to try to keep Delphox in the style of the original artist. The artist was Likesakiii and here is the link to his picture that I used for reference and which started the story: likesakiii.deviantart.com/art/Delphox-407947125
Anyways, sorry for my major inactivity. I've been focused on my college work and other things that have been going on while I was away. But I can assure you that I will have plenty more to post, if not all in one day. I have had time to sketch some things while I haven't been on, so I will try to finish those so there is more for you guys to see. Anyways thanks for being so patient enough to read this little story and go and check out the artist that was the inspiration for this story. Thanks again everybody!
