As much as I enjoy driving, I fly to this one. Southwest is a pretty easy way to get there, and since they allow 2 bags checked for free you can get one suit there no problem. Maybe two if you can fit all of your clothes into a carry on, heh.
Sadly Kaynus just *had* to have a huge head, tail, and feet so the rolling toolbox that I use for his flight case can't hold the fullsuit. I have to pack the bodysuit in my own luggage bag, but everything else fits in the flight case. The one I have is made by Blue Hawk Hardware, and it fits inside of the specs for flying for free (plus it has wheels and an extending handle):

I remember seeing yours at Fangcon, and have thought about getting one for air travel.. However, most of my heads are big, although I would probably only try and take SabreKatz and Fu Manchu..
Do you check your head in the flight case? I'd be worried about losing a head. I've heard of people carrying them on the plane instead of checking them, and I would want to do that with Fu's head.

I had my head in the case and checked it. If I lost the case, really, I would lose everything except the bodysuit so I'd be SOL anyway. :P I really did not want to carry a fursuit head onto the plane, especially when I had an oversized bag carrying my DJ gear + laptop. I've heard the same cautionary tales about checking a fursuit head, but I've done it once now and Edgewise has done it, umm, 4 or 5 times without any issue. I plan on checking my head + everything but the bodysuit yet again next year.
Southwest connected once going out and once coming back...and in different cities. I dunno, I guess the best course of action is to feel safe about whatever you end up doing, but I stress more about having to explain (if asked) that it's a mascot costume than it actually getting lost along the way. :P
