Squeezed ourselves into a 2 table setup, thanks again to Brendan and the MFF dealers staff for allowing us this special corner for 5 consecutive years! Unlike most other dealers, I am able to utilize the heck out of this otherwise useless corner, since my Z-racks are half the depth of a table and can go along that odd wall (left side of the photo). There was not much standing space, but we got by. Sales were off from last year by 10%, but no big deal, and mostly my fault for not having the time to build stock to sell. I made 15 homework orders during the convention, so there are only 8 pre-orders to do now - most buyers were able to take home their new collars/cuffs/etc right away!
Big change for this convention: hanging up collars was possible because I bought 500 custom made stainless steel S-hooks. They are not the same size on each end, allowing a diagonal hang close to the pole. They fall off easier than the plastic shower rings from Dollar Tree I had previously been using, however, it allowed unprecedented use of the wall space and is a model for all of my future "store" setups. I was very pleased we got so much done in so little space. Also, it was nice not having to re-arrange and neaten up tossed about stacks of collars. Browsers are brutal to organized piles. No problem with the hanging stock, that worked GREAT.
This setup also featured some new light rope - twice as many LEDs per foot, AND a bit brighter. WOW GREEN LIGHT AWESOME :)~

Some Anime and comic cons have two problems for me:
1 Young attendees who have a $20 budget (this is NOT my market)
2 LONGEST drive with untested sales
I have tried locally to vend at both a comic convention (DCC), and an anime convention, both times was waitlisted with excuses for why I could not get a table. This is especially problematic because I can not test a new show LOCALLY (where I have zero travel expense and can stay at home overnights)
Dragon con: was told by folk that this past year, dealers were F'd in the A by being put in a room away from all events, unlike years past. Some dealers did a mere 10% of their former years sales as a result.
All of that has me very cautious about doing any conventions outside of the 5-6 per year where I have great success in sales.
Years past, I have done experimental events, and usually, either break even or lose money trying.
