Something about it - perhaps the loose feel and the effectively simple shading, or even the placement of the lightsource - makes the scene undeniably real; I feel as though I could actually be there in the room. (The fact that everybody does something like this sometimes probably helps, too.)

The expression is great, and the television's glow reflecting in the eyes is a very nioce touch. That's either a really interesting TV program, or really boring homework.

It's most likely a combo of both. ^_^ Knowing me, I'm probably watching King Kong or Serenity while avoiding some AP English essay.

Very nice. I have to agree with Indigo that the scene feels very real. You're giving me some pretty good flashbacks to college days.

I guess those would be flash-forwards for me, seeing as I have not yet graduated from highschool.
