Livestream commission. This is based on a story idea I came up with where all dogs and cats have turned into intelligent anthros, an event later called the Big Change, and seeing the effects it would have on humans.
The drawing shows what a typical dog (in this case, a border collie) looked like before the Big Change (left) and after (right).
I told Lord Dirk to draw the anthro this way because I thought it would be more believable if the anthropomorphization was minimal but effective (instead of making them into human sized and shaped beings with animal heads), so I cited Disney's Robin Hood as an influence. Also, I wanted to show that dogs and cats had not turned into two new kinds of humans but rather into two new races of sapient creatures. They are to canines and felines what humans are to primates.

I think the big change was a divine miracle, or something based on Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, where just as primates, dogs and cats evolved, But it maintains its animal characteristics, and everything is an anthropomorphic form. And humans might be scared at first, but they would get used to it because they are domestic animals, that's my theory.
